The College of Graduate Studies supports graduate students engaged in the thesis and dissertation process from the time of the initial advisory committee composition through the final review and submission processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support this time of professional development in a student\u2019s journey, our team organizes workshops, provides one-on-one formatting help, and partners with various offices to offer research training that will help them gain skills for their future careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2023\u20132024 academic year, our team completed 1,029<\/strong> format reviews and facilitated the submission of 463<\/strong> final theses and dissertations. We also launched a formatting template integrating UCF\u2019s new updated digital accessibility standards. Additionally, our non-credit thesis and dissertation webcourse for students saw 1,341<\/strong> participants, who collectively completed 185,143<\/strong> page views throughout the year. Our graduate student ambassador provided 3,019<\/strong> minutes of one-on-one formatting support through 162<\/strong> personalized appointments. In collaboration, with UCF Libraries we also supported global access to electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) via the STARS (Showcase of Text, Archives, Research and Scholarship) repository, which experienced 738,818<\/strong> downloads from users worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Integrity Training<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once a student enters Graduate School, they should understand the importance of writing and studying with responsibility and integrity.  This includes conducting basic research, properly citing sources, and avoiding cheating or dishonesty. However, if they\u2019ve forgotten any of these fundamentals, the college offers training to help reinforce these essential skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ensure that graduate students have an awareness and understanding of the fundamental issues of ethics, academic integrity, and the responsible conduct of research (RCR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All graduate students complete an asynchronous ethics webcourse within their first semester. In the 2023 \u2013 2024 academic year, 3,554<\/strong> students completed this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, doctoral students must complete two online ethics\/RCR workshops. The College of Graduate Studies partners with the UCF Center for Ethics to provide sessions on Personal and Professional Integrity, and Ethics and Research Integrity.
