How to Avoid Research Misconduct

By: Graduate Studies on

When you’re deep into writing your class paper, thesis, or dissertation, it can be easy to take for granted one of the most important aspects of student research—academic integrity. Something as simple as overlooking a cited source can have serious consequences, so it’s important to keep the guidelines for proper research conduct at the top of mind.

This fall, the College of Graduate Studies will be providing training seminars in academic integrity to help build awareness and understanding of these issues.  Newly admitted doctoral students will be required to take the training online and in person:

  • Online: Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Responsible Conduct of Research training
  • Face-to-face: Four ethics/RCR workshops coordinated by the College of Graduate Studies and the Office of Research and Commercialization, or an approved alternative training program

The training and workshops are free and open to all UCF graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and associates. For more information, visit the Academic Integrity Training page at the College of Graduate Studies web site.
