The recipients of the 2012 Order of Pegasus are recognized for their exemplary performance and breadth of accomplishments.

Four graduate students and two doctoral/professional students have been given the Order of Pegasus, the highest and most prestigious student award that can be attained at the University of Central Florida. Awardees are selected based on academic achievement, professional or community service, leadership, and publication or research experiences.

The 2012 Order of Pegasus Recipients are:

Graduate Students:
– Kelvin Ang, College of Business Administration
– Brandy Espinosa, College of Education
– Amanda Lager, College of Arts and Humanities
– Zainab Nasser, College of Business Administration.

Doctoral/Professional:
– Sarina Amin, College of Medicine, M.D. Program
– Kevin Stevenson, College of Sciences

Students are nominated by a committee broadly representative of the university community including the President, Provost, Vice Provosts, Vice Presidents and Deans, Student Body President, and the Director of Athletics. Nominees are asked to complete a formal application, provide an essay, separate recommendations, and participate in a personal interview with the selection committee.

Order of Pegasus recipients are inducted into the “Pegasus Lounge”, an area dedicated to awardees. The lounge, which anyone on campus can visit, is located on the second floor of the Student Union overlooking the Pegasus Grand Ballroom. Each year a plaque is added to the wall honoring the inductees and includes their names and a group photograph with President Hitt.
