A certified master naturalist through the University of Florida’s master naturalist program, Tiffany Briggs is currently pursuing her Master of Science in interdisciplinary studies, studying conservation biology and environmental sustainability. The flexibility of being able to design a program tailored to her own wants and needs for her career is what drew Briggs to UCF. Briggs also enjoys that, while being a part of a large university, the IDS program feels like a small, tightly woven community. Even while she attended a different university for undergrad, Briggs says, UCF always felt like home.
In addition to her specific program, Briggs also enjoys the sustainability and conservation initiatives that UCF has taken on, such as becoming carbon neutral by 2050, and the fact that the recreation center is a LEED-certified building. Local conservation efforts are very important to Briggs – she states, “My love for Florida and the biodiversity we have drives my passion to conserve wild Florida through education and inspire generations to become environmental stewards of the future.”
