Exemplary Performance at UCF Recognized

Twenty-two students out of 79 nominations will be inducted into the 2018 Order of Pegasus. These students are recognized for their exemplary performance and breadth of accomplishments.

Six graduate students have been given the Order of Pegasus, the highest and most prestigious student award that can be attained at the University of Central Florida. Awardees are selected based on academic achievement, professional or community service, leadership, and publication or research experience. The winners will be honored at a ceremony this spring on April 2, at 5:00 pm in the Student Union.

The 2018 Order of Pegasus Graduate Student recipients are:

  • Carissa Baker, College of Art and Humanities, Texts and Technology
  • Porsha Dossie, College of Arts and Humanities, History
  • Daniel Franklin, College of Sciences, Physics
  • Ahmad Qasem, College of Medicine, Biomedical Sciences
  • Elizabeth Wellings, College of Medicine, Medical Doctor
  • Taylor Wickey, Rosen College of Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management

Students are nominated by a member of the university community and must go through a rigorous selection process. Order of Pegasus recipient’ names and pictures are hung in the Pegasus Lounge, an area in the Student Union dedicated to awardees. They also receive commemorative medals, SGA Scholarships and lifetime memberships to the Alumni Association.
