UCF Grad Fair Offers a Look at Where Graduate Education Can Take You
For those thinking about what comes next, graduate school can be an opportunity to turn an interest into expertise, build new skills, or shift gears in their careers.
UCF’s annual Grad Fair gives prospective students a chance to explore those possibilities firsthand.
The free, open-house style event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the UCF Student Union. Attendees can meet representatives from graduate programs across the university, learn about different areas of study, and get answers to questions about graduate school, from admissions and program requirements to research and career opportunities.
This year, Grad Fair will have a new home within the Student Union. The event will be held in both the Cape Florida Ballroom and Key West Ballroom, as the Pegasus Ballroom is undergoing renovations. The change gives prospective students a chance to move throughout the Student Union and explore the range of graduate opportunities available.
With nearly 200 graduate programs, UCF offers paths for students with diverse academic interests and career goals. Graduate students can pursue advanced study in fields ranging from engineering, health, and education to business, the arts, and emerging areas shaped by technology and innovation.
For many students, graduate school is about taking the knowledge they already have and learning how to apply it at a deeper level. Graduate programs can provide opportunities to work alongside faculty, contribute to research, and develop specialized skills that can help students stand out in their fields.
At UCF, those opportunities are closely connected to the university’s identity as a major research institution and its location in one of the country’s most dynamic regions for technology, health care, aerospace, hospitality, and other industries.
UCF’s graduate programs also continue to earn national recognition. In the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings, 14 UCF programs received top 50 national recognition. The university’s graduate programs in homeland and national security and emergency management ranked No. 1 nationally, while other highly ranked programs span areas including counseling, nursing, and aerospace engineering,
However, choosing a graduate program is about more than a ranking. Finding the right fit means considering the questions a student wants to explore, the skills they want to develop, and the kind of career they hope to build.
