Receiving Your Diploma

Your UCF Diploma is here!

Your credential is the official document that UCF has awarded your degree. If you are a master’s, specialist, or doctoral student, you will receive a diploma. Diplomas will be provided in both a paper and digital format. Certificates are only distributed in a digital format.

The College of Graduate Studies works with Parchment, a 3rd-party vendor, to distribute all credentials. Use the information and videos below to figure out what you’ll need to do to receive your credentials.

Timeline

You can expect to receive your diploma in approximately 6-10 weeks after the end of the term. You will receive an email to your UCF email account from Parchment requesting that you claim your credential. If you also have a phone number on file with UCF, you will receive a text message notification.

PhD students will receive their electronic diploma 1-hour before the commencement ceremony.

Credential Claiming

You will need to click on the link in the email or text message and then create a Parchment account to log in and claim your credential. Your account will default to your UCF email, but you can change this once you log in.

Once logged in, you must claim the credential to initiate mailing (for physical diplomas) and downloading your electronic copy.  There will be a separate email for each program that you are earning.

Once the claim email has been sent, you have 72 hours to change your mailing address if needed, but this will only update in Parchment (it will not update in myUCF). Otherwise, it will be sent to the mailing address on file with UCF.

Mailed Diploma

If you are receiving a physical diploma, you should receive it 15-20 days after claiming it through Parchment. However, you can also pay for faster shipping of the diploma. Standard shipping rates apply.

If you miss the 72-hour window to change your address, contact the College of Graduate Studies Graduate Student Services Team to provide a new address. A new credential will need to be issued to you.

Your mailed diploma will not include a diploma holder, cover, or frame. You should receive a diploma holder at Commencement, if you participate. Herff Jones also provides many products for sale for various graduation needs.

If your diploma arrives damaged or there are any other issues, log into your Parchment account for assistance or view the General Support Parchment video.
