Graduate Program Seminar, Workshop or Conference Support Available
The College of Graduate Studies is offering financial support for academic departments to conduct seminars, workshops, and conferences.
To augment educational opportunities, the College of Graduate Studies (CGS) will award up to $2,500 per academic year to support department seminars, special workshops, or conferences designed to bring in experts not officially affiliated with UCF.
To qualify, the following guidelines must be met.
- The application must come from the academic unit (department, school) that houses the graduate program whose students and faculty would attend and benefit from the seminar, workshop, or conference. Interdisciplinary doctoral programs representing multiple units are also eligible.
- CGS support must be no more than 50 percent of the expense budget of the seminar, workshop, or conference program. CGS resources are not permitted to cover attendees’ food expenses.
Depending on the availability of funds, CGS will support approximately ten awards for the current fiscal year, i.e., through June 30, 2025. Short proposals (1-2 pages) that explain: 1) the nature of the seminar, workshop, or conference and the graduate program(s) that will benefit through this award; 2) how the funding will specifically be used and include 3) the corresponding budget for the entire event should be submitted at least one month in advance of the event. Eligible proposals will be funded on a first-come first-serve basis.
In addition to the CGS funds, the Office of Research (OR) may be able to provide additional support through the OR Sponsorship program.
