A&SF Funds

The Activity & Service Fee (A&SF) Business Office manages the accounting, personnel, and purchasing needs of A&SF-funded agencies and Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). Student organizations receiving A&SF funds must have at least two authorized officers complete the Financial Training Workshop each fiscal year before spending any allocated funds. The office also supports student organizations and UCF departments funded by the Student Government. The current A&SF is $11.67 per credit hour.

Centsible Knights

Centsible Knights helps UCF students build financial confidence through workshops and resources on planning, saving, and investing. Join interactive sessions on Microsoft Teams to learn, ask questions, and become a ¢ent$ible Knight.

Conference, Registration, and Travel Support

The Student Government allocates the CRT committee to help students connect with their passions. Through CRT, students can receive funding for conference registration and travel, compete, present research, and connect with others. To apply, students must complete financial training through the Student Government, submit trip details, complete an application, and present at a future SG meeting.

Emergency Textbook Fund

The Emergency Textbook Fund provides support to students facing sudden or unexpected financial challenges. This fund is intended for those in dire need after other resources have been exhausted.

FAFSA

The first step in applying for federal student aid, including Direct Unsubsidized Loans and Grad PLUS Loans, is completing the FAFSA. As a graduate student, you’re considered independent and do not need to include your parents’ financial information. You may also qualify for grants or federal work-study opportunities based on financial need and available funding. UCF FAFSA School Code 003954

Financial Loans

Loans are financial aid that must be repaid with interest. They may come from the federal government, private lenders, or other organizations. Before borrowing, understand the lender and the loan’s terms and conditions.

Fulbright Scholars

The Fulbright Program, administered by the U.S. Department of State, supports international educational exchange to promote mutual understanding. Each year, about 8,000 grants are awarded for study, research, and teaching abroad.

Graduate Assistantships

UCF offers assistantships that provide graduate students with valuable experience in teaching, research, and professional roles. Graduate assistants receive a stipend, tuition remission, and health insurance for qualifying appointments. Most positions are offered through a student’s program, and all require full-time enrollment.

Graduate Fellowships

UCF awards over $2 million annually in fellowships to support graduate students’ academic pursuits while recognizing their excellence and potential.

Health Insurance

All students should have health insurance that offers broad benefits at a reasonable cost. Florida requires international students to have coverage meeting state criteria. UCF provides health insurance for qualifying graduate assistants and fellows working 20 hours per week at UCF who are enrolled full-time in a degree program.

Lou Frey Institute Graduate Political Science Research Fellowship

The Lou Frey Institute offers scholarships available for masters and doctoral students in political science or social science education who are pursuing research and learning in civics, civic education, and political science.

Presentation Fellowship

The Presentation Fellowship provides funding for master’s, specialist, and doctoral students to present original research or creative work at a professional conference. Applicants must be the primary author and presenter.

Special Circumstance and Emergency Funding

The Student Emergency Fund helps actively enrolled UCF students facing urgent financial crises with expenses such as housing, food, tuition, utilities, transportation, or medical needs. Assistance is limited, requires documentation, and is reviewed case‑by‑case.

Student Account Services

Student Account Services bills and collects tuition, housing, and other university fees. The office maintains financial records and provides information to help students understand and manage their accounts.

Student Government Cap and Gown Scholarship

The Student Government Cap and Gown Scholarship helps master’s and doctoral students with the cost of graduation regalia. Applicants must have submitted an Intent to Graduate and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Tuition and Fee Info

Tuition and fees are charged each term for registered classes, with assessments beginning about one month before the payment deadline. Students are responsible for charges unless classes are dropped before the academic calendar’s drop deadline. Account balances can be viewed and updated daily in myUCF.

Tuition Scholarship Program for Dependents and Spouses

Full-time faculty, staff, and post-doctoral scholars in established positions may take up to six credit hours per semester without paying registration fees. This benefit can be assigned to a spouse or dependent under 26. Courses must be taken at UCF, and the waiver form must be submitted by the fee due date.
