A Most Prestigious Award
UCF announced this week twenty-four students that will be inducted into the 2020 Order of Pegasus. These students are recognized for their exemplary performance and breadth of accomplishments.
Seven graduate students have been given the Order of Pegasus this year, the highest and most prestigious student award that can be attained at the University of Central Florida. Awardees are selected based on academic achievement, professional or community service, leadership, and publication or research experience. The winners will be honored at a ceremony this spring on April 6.
The 2020 Order of Pegasus Graduate Student recipients are:
- Karla Badillo-Urquiloa – College of Engineering and Computer Science, Modeling and Simulation PhD
- Timothy Hill – College of Community Innovation and Education, Criminal Justice MS, Public Administration MPA Dual Degree Track
- Stephanie Jarmak – College of Sciences, Physics PhD
- Sharon Park – College of Engineering and Computer Science, Material Science and Engineering MSMSE
- Ryan Ridenbaugh – College of Sciences, Biology MS
- Rachel Sampson – College of Optics and Photonics, Optics and Photonics PhD
- Sirikanya Sellers – College of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine
Students are nominated by a member of the university community and must go through a rigorous selection process. Order of Pegasus recipient’s names and pictures are hung in the Pegasus Lounge, an area in the Student Union dedicated to awardees. They also receive commemorative medals, SGA Scholarships and lifetime memberships to the Alumni Association.
