College of Graduate Studies Fellowships

The College of Graduate Studies at UCF awards over $2 million in fellowship funding each year. Fellowships are awarded to students in acknowledgment of their impressive past achievements and in anticipation of their future successes at UCF and beyond. Students may receive fellowships from the UCF College of Graduate Studies, from their college or department, or from agencies or organizations outside of UCF. Graduate fellowship funds are awarded to enhance a fellow’s scholarly and educational endeavors, but there are no specific assignments associated with the award. Instead, fellows are expected to participate fully in their program and in the intellectual community of the university, thereby enriching the experience of that community.

University Fellowships

Most university fellowships are reserved for incoming degree-seeking graduate students and require full-time enrollment. Graduate students enrolled in fully online programs that exempt them from paying campus-based fees are not eligible for university fellowships offered through the College of Graduate Studies. Students that have received a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security can be considered for scholarships from private donors or for private loans but are not eligible for institutional aid. Additional fellowships may be available in your academic college or department. You may also wish to search for external fellowship programs that support graduate students.

To be considered for a UCF fellowship, students must submit a complete application for admission, including all supporting documentation (e.g., test scores, letters of recommendation, transcripts) by the Fall Priority Deadline for the program. Visit www.graduate.ucf.edu for admission requirements and guidance as well as the online graduate application.

If you have questions about any of the fellowships listed below, please email gradfellowship@ucf.edu.

Fellowship Application Required
The following fellowships require a separate fellowship application submitted by the student or use of the graduate admission application fee waiver in order to be considered for funding. Fellowships that require an application must be submitted by the fellowship application deadline. See below for instructions and deadlines for each fellowship.

McNair and RAMP Scholars, FAMU Feeder students, McKnight Doctoral Fellowship applicants, and GEM Fellowship applicants are eligible for a UCF graduate admission application fee waiver. Visit https://graduate.ucf.edu/applying-to-ucf/ for more information.

Note: Students that are eligible for and use the McNair or RAMP Scholar graduate application fee waiver will be automatically considered for the associated fellowship if all materials for the graduate admission application are submitted by January 15 for the following summer or fall semester. To be considered for the fellowship, students must also submit at least two letters of recommendation (including one from your McNair or RAMP Mentor), a resume, and a personal/goal statement.

Students that are eligible for and use the FAMU Feeder graduate application fee waiver will be automatically considered for the associated fellowship if all materials for the graduate admission application are submitted by March 1 for the following summer or fall semester. To be considered for the fellowship, students must also submit at least two letters of recommendation, a resume, and a personal/goal statement.

If you would like to submit additional materials for fellowship consideration, email those documents to gradfellowship@ucf.edu. If you did not use the application fee waiver but participated in the McNair Scholar, RAMP Scholar, or FAMU Feeder programs, notify us that you would like to be considered for the fellowship by emailing us at gradfellowship@ucf.edu no later than January 15 for the McNair and RAMP Fellowship and March 1 for the FAMU Feeder Fellowship.
